DO YOU NOW HAVE A DISABILITY?
If the answer is yes to the above and you would like to join other disabled Ex-Service people to take part in Sport, have some fun, recreation, friendship and camaraderie, then we could well be the Association for you. Of course we also encourage those who wish to take their sport to a higher level. We meet most months to use the facilities at RAF Cosford, in Shropshire, and to socialise at the nearby Holiday Inn in Telford. BEWSA subsidises the hotel and the sports venue is free to all members.
Not only can you swim in the pool at RAF Cosford but learn to Scuba Dive too with fully qualified instructors. Our members participate in many different sports and we send a team to the USA every year to participate in the 'Paralyzed Veterans of America' games. These games are open to all ages and abilities, with the accent being on rehab for the newly injured and a continuing ‘friendship through sport’.
We also participate in other activities through some of our sponsors. So read about us, make contact, and you will find a great bunch of people ready to welcome you. We are indebted to many Charities and Ex-Service Organisations, especially The Royal British Legion, Seafarers UK, ABF - The Soldiers' Charity and The Not Forgotten Association, whose support and generosity help us to survive and keep going.
