Marilyn - BEWSA Team Manager
I became involved in BEWSA in the early 90's through my husband.I arrange our monthly training weekends at RAF Cosford as well as looking after the team when we are in the USA. Our routine consist of team activities like Basketball, Softball and tag Rugby. Our aim is to get fit, relax and enjoy the company of each other in an service environment. We also do some indoor athletic training as required. What is needed is that every member also train at home for their events and keep a record of their achievements. My aim then is to select a team to attend the National Veterans Wheelchair Games in the USA that we have a personal invite to every year.

Stef - BEWSA Dive Master
In 1989, I was serving in the Army, and found out about the Association through my O.C. who was a founding member of BEWSA. After meeting the 'guys' on a few training weekends, I decided I too wanted to join. I've been Assistant and Team Manager in the past, but had to hand that over because with a young family, I was unable to commit to going to the PVA games every year. Outside of BEWSA, I learnt to dive in 1993, and am now a qualified Dive Master. In 1999, myself and Nick started to organise our latest project, Millennium Dive after several members had expressed massive enthusiasm in learning to SCUBA dive. It was fantastic to see this project evolve, from a simple idea, into a fully functioning dive club, and I get so much pride from seeing the 'guys' qualify. My proudest moment to date with BEWSA was assisting Mike Marten, a former Royal Navy Clearance Diver, who is now a quadriplegic, qualify as a SCUBA diver.

Mick - Instructor/Dive Training Officer
I learnt to dive in 2005, at Ocean View. My instructor was Nick Harrington, who took me from Open Water diver, right up to Assistant Instructor. During this time, I started to hear about Nick's involvement in BEWSA and in 2007, I was asked to come along and meet the 'guys'. We all got along really well and they asked me if I would like to join, and be their Assistant Dive Instructor. After Qualifying as a PADI and DDI Instructor, I have now become the Dive Training Officer. The reason I became an instructor was to see the 'Buzz' the 'guys get when they first actually go underwater. I really enjoy being an active member of BEWSA, the social side is great and I love being able to help the 'guys' achieve something that most had only ever dreamt of.
